The first Detroit gallery dedicated to artists with disabilities will make its debut near Eastern Market on May 6. The opening exhibit is titled Liberty Realm. Over the next five months artwork from artists with developmental disabilities and mental health needs will be featured in a special gallery taking over the storefront conference center of The Vella Group through a unique philanthropic partnership. The artists are part of Services to Enhance Potential (STEP), a major provider of supports and services in Wayne County to those with developmental disabilities and mental health needs.
