Jerri Burks
Jerri is an artist who works at the PASC Detroit Studio. She makes both realist and abstract artworks, characterized by intricate details and her exacting ability to reproduce any reference material. Although Jerri is able to copy exactly what she sees, she adds her own flourishes to intricate detailed artworks, stylizing images of stark arabesque interiors into brightly colored habitats, or transforming a Bridget Riley painting out of the hard edge look of optical art into a more vulnerable representation of color and line.
Jerri has exhibited at the PASC Detroit Gallery, Detroit, MI (2024/25); the annual exhibit in the Art Gallery at Westland City Hall, Westland, MI (2023); the Detroit Repertory theatre, Detroit, MI (2022); Swords Into Plowshares Peace Center and Gallery, Detroit, MI (2022); PASC Southgate Gallery, Southgate, MI (2021); and the Scarab Club, Detroit, MI (2021).
