John Peterson, Detroit Symphony Orchestra, 2024, mixed media on paper, 30.5 x 22.5 in
Debbie is a Westland-based artist who works at the PASC Westland Studio. She is a multi-media artist focused on line, color and the physicality of mark-making. To construct her artworks she patiently adds abstract layers of colors and linework. Once she is comfortable with the background she adds an overlay pattern or grid-work of paint. In her collage-based artworks, she cuts up one seemingly finished piece and combines it with another to make a hybrid object.
She has exhibited at PASC Southgate Gallery, Southgate, MI (2025); PASC Detroit Gallery, Detroit, MI (2024/25); BasBlue, Detroit, MI (2024); Art Space 200, University of Michigan Medical School, Ann Arbor, MI (2023); the annual exhibit at Art Gallery at Westland City Hall, Westland, MI (2023); Swords Into Plowshares Gallery, Detroit, MI (2022); Detroit Repertory theatre, Detroit, MI (2022); PASC Detroit Pop-Up Gallery, Detroit, MI (2022); The Scarab Club, Detroit (2021); and an online exhbition with PASC.
During the run of the exhibition artworks are available for viewing and purchase through The Gallery at Cherry Hill.
