Alsendoe Owens

Alsendoe is a Detroit-based artist working out of the PASC Detroit studio. He is known for his rapid and prolific practice, where he works on multiple artworks quickly and confidently. His compositions often begin with energetic gestural linework in pencil or marker, working across various mediums such as acrylic, India ink, pencil, and watercolor. Alsendoe builds upon bold, contrasting colors following the volume and shadows of each form. Through layered brushstrokes, his artworks become almost self-referential, like portraits of the artist. His subjects range from portraiture to ancient sculptures, animals, and artifacts, reflecting a deep engagement with both observation and imagination.

He has exhibited at the Detroit Artist Market, Detroit, MI (2025); University of Michigan, Institute for the Humanities, Ann Arbor, MI (2025); PASC Detroit Gallery, Detroit, MI (2024/25/26); Art Enables, Washington, DC (2024); BasBlue, Detroit, MI (2024); MOCAD, Detroit, MI (2023); Ford Art Gallery at WCCC, Belleville, MI (2023); Swords Into Plowshares Gallery Detroit, MI (2022); PASC Detroit Pop-Up Gallery (2022); The Scarab Club, Detroit, MI (2021); the PASC Southgate Gallery, Southgate, MI (2021); and in two online exhibitions on the PASC website. His artwork has been presented at the Outsider Art Fair with PASC, NYC, New York (2026); Outsider Art Fair with Shelter Gallery, NYC, New York (2025); Open Invitational Art Fair, Miami, FL (2024); NADA with White Columns Gallery, Miami, FL (2024).
